We run an appointments system offering appointments bookable in advance, with some appointments only available on the day. We also offer urgent appointments if a problem cannot wait.

Appointments can be made by telephone or in person. Some doctors also have bookable telephone consultations, please ask if you think your problem could be dealt with by telephone.

Please be aware that there is great demand for appointments early or late in the day and also with certain doctors. If you particularly need one of these appointments, you will probably need to book much earlier. If your need to see a doctor is urgent, then we will ask you to see whichever doctor is available at that time.

Telephone Advice

Some doctors also have bookable telephone consultations, please ask if you think your problem could be dealt with by telephone.You can leave a message and a doctor or nurse will call you back.

Cancelling your Appointment

If you are unable to attend an appointment with one of the doctors or nurses, please telephone us or use the link on this page to cancel your appointment. By giving us as much notice as you can you are helping us to make sure that someone else is given your slot.

Please note that telephone calls to the surgery may be recorded for training and quality purposes.

The Met Office has issued a heatwave warning for the next few days. High temperatures can be dangerous, especially for people who may be particularly vulnerable such as older people, young children and those with serious illnesses. During this period please remember to drink lots of cool drinks, keep out of the sun between 11am to 3pm, apply sunscreen of at least SPF15 with UVA protection and wear light, loose-fitting cotton clothes and a hat. If you need medical help or advice, please call NHS 111.

Blood Tests

We are experiencing a high number of requests for this type of appointment and unfortunately lower than usual staffing levels.

NEW APPOINTMENT SYSTEM

Forest Gate Surgery is changing its appointment system during September. This change will affect our online users.

The current online appointments and prescription ordering system will cease at Noon on Tuesday 17th September 2013. The new system will become operational on Monday 23rd September. Unfortunately there will be no online functionality between these dates for which we apologise

In order to maintain your online registration, you will need to collect login details for the new system in person from the surgery. For data protection and confidentiality reasons please bring photo ID with you when you come to collect this.

If you are the Parent/Guardian of a registered online user then please bring photo ID for the person requiring online access when you come to collect this information. If your child does not have photo ID please bring photo ID for yourselves as Parent/Guardian.

Login details will be available from 23rd September onwards

Full details on how to access the system will be provided when you collect your login information.

 

REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS

If you order prescriptions from the surgery, please can we ask you to read our prescriptions page.

We do try to be as flexible as we can but misuse of the online service has promted us to issue a reminder about how items should be requested.

There is now a facility to update your email address through Appointments Online but please note that due to technical reasons the amended address will appear in capital letters on the system. We hope this will be changed soon but it is out of our control -sorry.
